She Taught Me To Laugh Again is the sequel to Thomas Brown's debut book, Men Bleed Too. After his wife died from breast cancer, Tom returned to Carlisle, Pennsylvania to resume his duties as a colonel in the U.S. Army at Carlisle Barracks. The days were lonely and sad as he worked through the grieving process.
He decided to return to his last assignment at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to be closer to family and friends. Just a week before he was reassigned, he met Connie Noll, a recent widow. Their friendship became a relationship, and after Tom left Pennsylvania, they continued talking over the phone while making plans for a future reunion.
The book follows two people in their middle forties who had both lost spouses to death. It traces the trials of grieving, falling in love, managing distance, and trying to build a new life together. The story reaches its capstone with their wedding on September 30, 1995.
It is a moving story of two people daring to fall in love again.
